What Causes A Sharp Pain In The Shoulder During Pregnancy?

Hi Doc I m 18 weeks pregnant. Second baby in two years. I m aged 41. All good other than fatigue. But I ve just had the most debilitating pain going through my right shoulder. I could barely breath or stand. If I could have got to the phone it would ve been an ambulance job. Then it just went. I ve had a gastric band and wonder if it could be linked with some kind of wind? My tummy feels s little acidy now despite try a gaviscon pill. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Kind regards. Jo

i have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns...
In my opinion there is no such association between gastric band and shoulder pain ..is there any trauma to shoulder?Have you done your x ray of shoulder joint?
In my opinion you should meet an orthopedic surgeon for proper management. And for stomach acidity u can use pantoprazole 40 mg before breakfast daily for seven days safely....
Acetaminophen is safe in pregnancy u can use it for shoulder pain....
