Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a pinch nerve on my left leg with a shooting pain on the left side. It is the 3rd weed and it is getting better as I have gone to the dr and have rested, take aleve and wear a support hose on the leg. They provided exercise and told me to take no stairs but need to move around versus resting. Is there anything else I can do to give me relief? Thanks
You seem to be doing the right things. You need to continue with Aleve, this is a drug that will help with the pain and inflammation and enable you to move easier due to this. Also, exercises are important to relieve the pressure on the nerve. It is important to not have bed rest but do daily activities as much as the pain allows you. Avoid activities that may worsen your pain such as bending your back or lifting weights. Take your time to do things and be sensitive to your pain.
If you experience any worsening or you are not continuing to improve you need to talk to your doctor again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
