What Causes A Skin Pigmentation Like Spots In The Arm Suddenly?

I have noticed a small black in color spot about 1.5 cm s wide growing on my arm. It is not a mole but it does seem to be on one of my tattoos. It s flat and not raised and it is a little sore when touched. What could it be? I m a little worried about it being cancer.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of skin pigmentation like spots in the arm which seems to be due to allergic reaction leading to dermatitis. It could be due to increased skin sensitivity of getting infected, eczema, fungal infections, psoriasis, scabies and rosacea. I would suggest you to start taking anti allergic medications such as Allegra. You should apply a steroid ointment like cortisone over the rash area for relieving inflammation and itching. Application of calamine lotion will be effective to soothe the skin. Apply cold compresses over itchy rashes to reduce itching and redness . If symptoms still keeps on persisting you should visit dermatologist once and get it examined. You should go for patch test and blood tests and start treatment after proper prescription. You should maintain proper cleanliness and avoid scratching and touching the bumps to prevent infection.
