Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have a small hard bump behind my ear. I saw a doctor for it and they said I was probably just fighting a sinus infection. It went away for a couple weeks and now is back. I also have a small soft bump right on the hair line on the back of my head. Neither of them hurt. I have noticed that my scalp is dry, so that may be why I have one on the back of my hair line. I have colon and breast cancer in my family so I always think the worst.
Hard bump behind the ear is commonly not a cause of concern. It can occur due to cyst, pimple, lymph node enlargement, ear infection, mastoiditis, etc. Take care of your scalp hygiene. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT to rule out mastoiditis, cyst, tumor, lymph node enlargement. This is to stay on the safer side.
Get your sinus infection treated at the earliest. Take care of your immune system, stay out of stress and addictions if any. Take food that helps to boost your immunity to stay away from diseases.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
