What Causes A Small Numb Area On The Left Leg?

Q: Hi, I m 42. Now a small region on the same place on my left leg is senseless, no matter what ever I do...I took a pen and scribbled on the skin and not able to feel anything. I could mark the region where my skin could feel the pen and where I could not. Please tell me what I need to do.
