What Causes A Small Perforation At The Incision Site After A Laparoscopy For Endometriosis?

21 yr old underwent laparotomy surgery for endometriosis and a benign tumour on the left ovary. 7 weeks post op. Healing has been going well. Recently noticed a small pin sized hole in the centre of the incision . Was wondering if I should be concerned about it enough to get it looked at in the hospital.

Hello,

It could be a minor wound gaping and will heal by itself. No definite treatment is required. If there is signs of infection, antibiotics may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
