What Causes A Small Pus Filled Spot Inside The Roof Of Left Nostril?

I have a small spot inside at the top of my left nostril that is tender to the touch and seems to be scabbing over. There is no bleeding and when I pick off the scabby material it is yellowish-white and very hard/crusty. It feels raw after I pick off the scab and after a few hours it has built up again. Immediately after I pull off the dried material, more clear mucus comes out. Should I be concerned or will this clear up on its own?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my surgical experience, the spot with the pus-filled tissue at the roof of nostril indicate boil with infection via staphylococcus aureus bacteria in most of the instances.

* In my surgical opinion, you must consult your GP for prescription of antibiotics to cure it at earliest to avoid the secondary complications of extensive abscess or cellulitis changes involving rest of the areas of the nostril.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
