What Causes A Small White Clear Golden Fluid Appear On Sclera?

A small bubble filled with a clear golden fluid appeared on the white part (sclera?) of the right eye of an approx 80 y/o female pprox 1/8 inch medial to pupil. It is painless and does not appear to affect vision. It sometimes feels like grit and seems to shrink a it temporarily when flushed with cool water. She is in general good health other than knee and hip arthritis , hypercholesterolemia, and hx of bilat cataracts which have not been treated. She thinks it may have started approx 2 weeks ago when she changed her brand of eye makeup.
