What Causes A Soft Movable Knot On The Back Of The Neck?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type

My son has developed a dime-sized soft moveable knot on back of his neck by the hairline? He has been doing some strenuous running in cross country-could this be the cause or should I have it checked out?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
He may have some enlarged lymphnode due to reactive hyperplasia or some soft tissue tumor like lipoma. He should go for examination and if needed go for biopsy of that lump. It will give you exact diagnosis.
Then you should take treatment accordingly. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer.

Thanks for using health care magic.
Wish you a very good health.
