Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Static Spot In The Filed Of The Vision?
I ve noticed a static spot on my right eye at the 2:00 position beginning yesterday and was the size of a grain of pepper within my field of vision. It only moves with the movement of eyeball staying in same visual location. Last night it was slightly larger and made me think I had a gnat hanging from my hair. This morning, it was more like the size of a spider hanging in my hair. This evening is had turned irregular and an amber/brown color. How critical is this possible? What level of escalation is appropriate? Wait until tomorrow and make an opthomogist ?
You need to have a detailed opthalmologist review and get fundoscopy done as well as slit lamp examination. visual acuity and visual field examination should also be done.
Any possibility of retinal cause or vitreous opacities should be ruled out. As it may need prompt intra-ocular treatment in that case. Also diabetes and hypertension should be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
