What Causes A Sting Or Bite In The Middle Of My Back With Pus?

I have what appears to be a sting or bite in the middle of my back. It had something black in the center, thought it was a stinger, my friend tried to squeeze it out, and a bunch of very thick black and brown stuff came out then later puss. It smells bad. Obviously infection. I m wondering if peroxide and neosporin is sufficient and watching it for a day or two or if I need to be seen sooner?

hi,
thank you for putting upp your query on HCM.
as per your history, you have insect bite superadded by infection.
my treatment advise would be:
1. you may continue with neosporin ointmet twice a day.
2. you may take pain killer like tab ibuprofen.
3. you also need a course of antibiotics preferabley of cephalosporin group for 5-7 days, if not allergic, like tab cefixime 200 mg twice a day.
4. you may use hydrogen peroxide only if there is slough over the wound. otherwise, no need to use hydrogen peroxide.
if persistant or painful, consult a doctor nearby.
wishing you good health.
thank you
