What Causes A Strange Bump After Bruise?

My 3 year old son fell into a corner of a wall. When it first happened you could see a bruised line and then a bump formed and a bruise. After all swelling went down and the bump went away he now has a small dent in his skin. Will this ever go away? Are there any treatments that could help? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The bump is normal after the injury. You can give you son Tylenol to relieve the swelling. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application. The bump will go away gradually, so you should not be worried.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
