What Causes A Swollen Hemorrhoid?

I am frustrated (and embarrassed) by what seems to be a hemorrhoid that has swollen. I have not had this issue since pregnancy many years ago. I don t understand why it is continuing to swell...it seems to have no way to release the blood flow. It also seems the other tissue around my anus is swelling. What have I done and what do I do to relieve this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to haemorrhoids. I recommend using anti haemorrhoids cream such as Preparation H for local application. I also recommend soaking in warm water for relief for 15 to 20 minutes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
