What Causes A Swollen Lymph Node On The Clavicle?

Hello, Twice, but on 2 separate occasions, has the lymph on my clavicle (near sternum) has swollen overnight. I won t say it is painful but definitely sore. It is quite hard but can still be manipulated with good force. The skin seems to move over it. The swelling seems to reduce after a few hours. Can you please advise with your thoughts? Thank you kindly.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

A swollen clavicle lymph node may be caused by different conditions. It may be caused by infection of the skin, TBC, cancers like stomach cancer, nonhodgkin lymphoma etc.

You should get investigated further. Do a total blood count and also an abdominal and supraclavicular ultrasound.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
