Hi,

It can be due to either infection in head and neck region or due to any neoplastic growth anywhere in the body.

If it had resolved then nothing to worry but it is still there you need to get yourself examined by an oral medicine specialist and general physician.

After examination, it would get clear what is probable cause and accordingly it can be treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
