What Causes A Swollen,painful And Red Buttocks Where B12 Is Injected?
My boyfriend gets B12 injections and now on his buttocks where the injection site is, has become swollen, red, and hot to the touch, and VERY painful...what would cause this and what should he do? he is currently taking Sipro for a bruised spleen from an automobile accent.

As the injection site will be painful for 2 to 3days normally after a intra muscular injection because of mild level tissue damage when a needle piercing the the tissue.
from your history it seems some infection in the injected area due to unsterilized way of administrating the intramuscular injection.
