What Causes A Tear Near The Tailbone After Injury?
A number of weeks ago I fell down some stairs and got a small fracture in my tailbone. Just near the top of the crease in my buttocks a split in the skin has developed, I started to take a b multi vitamin in case it was a deficiency but this has not helped.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Sirisha's Response
May be your skin got cut when you had fallen from stairs because skin lining the bones are vulnerable for cuts during this kind of contusions . for fracture of tail bone hope you have consulted orthopedician and taking treatment . regarding the cut in the skin you can apply ointments like fudic daily twice after bath.and you have to see that the area is not moist otherwsie there will be chances of developing fungal infections in that area especially. taking vit c will help in hastening healing of cuts and wounds. incase fudic is not helping in improving the cut healing it is better you consult an orthopedic dr who will do local examination and can take decision.
