What Causes A Tearing Sound In Armpit Area While Working Out?

Hello, I was just working out and began to benchpress. As I began my 3rd set I was lowering the bar down when I heard a tearing sound in my left armpit area. It did not hurt ad I heard the tear but gradually began to feel sore. Do you think it is serious?
