What Causes A Tender Lump In The URQ Of The Abdomen?

I have a small, tender lump in my abdominal wall just in the upper right quadrant of my abdomen. I am a 51 year old female who is physically active. I wondered if it could be some kind of hernia. This has been there for about 5 weeks and I did have a cold during that time period so at first I thought it could be a swollen lymph node. Could you advise me? Thanks
