What Causes A Throbbing Sensation On The Back Of Neck?

I have had a throbbing sensation to the back of my neck mostly on the left side, at time the right. And it is more severe in the morning when I wake up. Have had all types of test done Heart, arteries, brain scans, The only thing that they have found is degeneration condition of the spine to include the neck area. Any ideas on what the problem could be. A surgeon want to give me a epidural injection next week and I am concerned with that procedure.

Hi,
As there is degenerative changes in cervical spines, this problem might be due to pinched nerve passing through affected spines.
Go for physiotherapy, short way diathermy and if require cervical traction.
This will help a lot.
Avoid putting pillow under neck while sleeing.
Take B1, B6, B12 shots.
Take calcium, vitamin A And D supplements.
Ok and take care.
