What Causes A Tight And Stabbing Sensation In The Upper Right Chest?

I am feeling a tight and stabbing sensation in my upper right chest. It occasionally extends down to my elbow. I have also developed a strange rash around where I feel the pain and also am experiencing some skin sensitivity on the same arm, similar to what a rug burn would feel like. I am getting very concerned.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of herpes zoster infection is more.
It is skin infection caused by herpes virus.
This virus cause inflammatory reaction in nerves. So patient feels sharp, stabbing pain.
It also produces rash. And chest region is most commonly involved, so better to consult dermatologist and get done clinical examination of involved area.
You need antiviral drug like acyclovir. Pregabalin is needed for pain. Anti inflammatory drugs are also useful. Application of ice packs is also beneficial.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
