Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Tingling Sensation In The Left Pinna?
Tingling of left outer ear, sometimes slightly into canal. Just feels if there could be a hair or fly touching, but that is not it. I am 66, female - 175lbs., 5 6 . Just saw family doctor, he looked in my ears. Didn t indicate that he saw a problem. Going on for the last month or so.
I understand your concern. Ther may be several reasons to why you may feel a tingling sensation in the ear, it may be due to an ear infection, collection of ear wax, peripheral neuropathy due to diabetes, swimmer's ear.
Look out for decreased hearing, ear discharge, facial numbness or weakness, ear pain, dizziness or vision impairment. If any of these are present it may be best to get evaluated to rule out other causes as discussed above and follow treatment for the same.
Although if none are present then one can be under observation.
Hope this helps, Take care. Regards, Dr Vignan Rachabattuni
