What Causes A Vaginal Discharge With Intermittent Itching?

I have been having a yellowish green discharge w/ intermintant itching for a week or so. I am sexually active but my partner & I have both not had sex in about a year. There was no smell until I used monastat 3 b/c @ first I thought it was a yeast infection. I've been doing a lot of research & it seems like I may have vaginosis. I'm really concerned but don't have money to go to Dr. My last pap smear however was normal. Please help, I'm very concerned & scared. I'm 27 and have had one child 6 years ago.
