What Causes A Watery Vaginal Discharge With Odor?

I have a heavy watery discharge which has quite a strong odour. I saw my GP who took some swabs and they came back negative. What could be causing the discharge? I wash daily, sometimes twice a day and I feel the discharge return about an hour after washing.
