Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Dr I am a 22 years old male. I have a white line in my upper lip, more towards my teeth on my left handside. It doesn't hurt. It buzzers only when I chew. I am a smoker. I was wondering why do i have and how do I make it go. I have it since two days.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of white line on upper lip which seems to be due to chemical or thermal injury mainly due to smoking. It could be an allergic reaction as well.
I would suggest you to :-
- Give cold compresses to affected area 2-3 times a day.
- Take over the counter anti allergic like zyrtec or benadryl.
- Avoid smoking.
If condition doesn't get better in one week then consult dermatologist and start treatment accordingly. You can go for biopsy of lesion if it remains persistent.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
