What Causes A White Patch On The Finger Post Recovery From An Infection?

Hi, one week back I had an infection on my little finger. I went to a doctor and got the puss removed. I was given Amoxicillin with diclofenac for about 4 days.. which I have completed now. Now pain and swelling is not there. But now my skin started peeling and i got a white patch of skin and a patch of harder skin. Is it healing? How should I go about it.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

A white patch of skin is scab; the wound is healing underneath, The scab eventually falls off, once the epithelialization of wound is complete.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas, Internal Medicine Specialist
