What Causes A White Shadow Appearance In The Ultrasound Scan?
I had an ultrasound of the uterus and there was a white shadow-like a line visible. My family doctor said not to worry about it but to go have a biopsy to make sure. The apt for the biopsy isn t until Nov. My concern is that I have had cervical cancer and would like to know sooner than later what that white shadow is.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can. Well this usually indicates mioma but right diagnosis depends on biopsy and symptoms such as bleeding or pain. Also surgery is recommended if heavy uterine bleeding and/or anemia has continued after several months of therapy with birth control hormones and a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Since you are in menopause, it may be reasonable to have hormonal therapy first and then if this is unsuccesful, surgery can be performed. The treatment then include myomectomy or hysterectomy can be done through one or more small incisions using laparoscopy, through the vagina, or through a larger abdominal cut. I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
