What Causes A White,crescent Shaped Spot On The Cervix Of Uterus?

Hi, i just went to see my nurse practitioner for a rountine pap. smear. She found a white, crescent shaped spot on my cervix. It is not a nodule, is not painful upon palpation and does not have a protuent profile. I'm hoping someone can answer my question, as to what this might be ?
