What Causes Abdominal Bloating Along With Irregular And Painful Periods?

I have a very sensitive abdominal area, it is constantly very bloated to the point I look pregnant, I m athletic and train most days in a week, I get pain when any pressure is applied or if I lie on it and also during and after exercise (not stitch). I also have very irregular periods which are very painful. Just wondering what the reason for this could be?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Painful and irregular periods are menstrual irregularities which may be caused by variety of causes.
Fibroids in uterus can cause pain and irregular periods and fibroids are a common occurrence.
Hormonal imbalance is also responsible for irregular periods however, pain is uncommon with hormonal imbalance.
Thus, I suggest you to consult a gynecologist for clinical assessment, investigations and thus management.
Bloating is associated with high levels of progesterone in body thus there is possibility of hormonal imbalance which is giving rise to bloating appearance in body.

Thanks and take care
