What Causes Abdominal Bloating Along With Sore Ribs?

I have swelling in my upper abdomen and small knots on my right side on my ribs that are painful to touch. Just getting over a virus that lasted about 10 days and had a cough for most of that time. I do have IBS-C but have emptied my bowels mostly I think...

Hi.

I am sure you suffered with the cough and probably even had nausea and/or vomiting which lead to wrenching and also sudden contractions of your chest muscles which are required for both coughing as well as vomiting. This could have resulted in soreness of your muscles as well as resulted in a few knots.

I am sure they will subside with time and would not want you to worry about them too much. Make sure you stay well hydrated and also eat healthy and they should soon subside.
