What Causes Abdominal Bloating Along With Tenderness In Navel?

my husband has a problem with his abdomen area and around the belly button. In the past years he started to grow a belly but then his belly button went from an iny to a ugly outy. He says it is tender if I touch his belly button area. He looks pregnant. He has also started having his ankles swell bad. He refuses to go see a dr and I am scared. I don t want him to bleed out and die on me. He is only 46. He doesn t drink anymore but he did drink beer. This problem started about the time he stopped drinking.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of abdominal bloating along with tenderness in navel which seems to be either infection or inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. I would suggest you to proton pump inhibitors and antacids such as Pantoprazole along with domperidone. You should take antispasmodics . Take plain and soft food and avoid hot, sharp and spicy food substances. You should take oral rehydration solution for maintaining the hydration and electrolyte balance of the body. You should consult gastroenterologist once and get complete blood investigations done. Start treatment after proper diagnosis. also eat slowly , drink plenty of warm water , do moderate workout , take plenty of Probiotics like Yoghurt in diet.
