Hi, my dad just turned 68. He has previous heart issues- had open heart surgery quite a few years back, had a pace maker put in and had his heart valve replaced two or three years ago. About two or so months ago he started to develop stomach issues (stating he was feeling bloated even though he stopped eating as much), along with blurred vision and fatigue. He looked tired and didn t want to do much (just kept working on the computer). He has a heart doctor (kind of- there are only two in our rural area), whose nurses ran an EKG and which the doctor called back to say that he felt the EKG indicated no heart-related problem but thought he should see some kind of gastro doctor. However this was in early April and my dad can t even get into see this gastro doctor until June 8th. Since his first initial visit to the doctor, they gave him pills to offset his stomach issues. This helped alleviate swelling in his ankles and he gained a bit more energy back, but he is also slowly and continually losing weight even though he is eating. Then, this doctor left a message the other day, saying he may need to run an EKG again but can t get him in for three weeks...! I don t know what other doctor he can go to for his issues. He is a heart patient and he can t wait for three weeks just to see a cardiologist again and he can t wait until June just to see a gastro doctor. Help! Where should he go? Who should he see??
