What Causes Abdominal Bloating, Belching, Acidity And Floating Stools?

Hi, i dont know if i am experiencing of malabsorption. Last 3months ago I am expericing of bloating, belching and feels like there is an acid on my stomach. When i do research on google I read some article that taking virgin coconut oil is one of the natural treatment.. But while taking that i notice that my poops float when i defecate. It floats and it is sticking.. I already stop taking the virgin coconut oil a week after i experience it. Its been 2 months now and my poop are still floating and sticky but its not bulky.. Do i have a problem in my digestion?

Hi,

The presence of mucus in stool is common. And normal in some amounts however a large amount of visible mucus in your stool isn’t normal and might be a sign of a problem.

If you begin seeing mucus in your stool, the levels are probably already elevated.

That doesn’t necessarily indicate you have a problem, but it’s something you should monitor especially if there is blood in stool or pain during defecation.

In such cases, it may be caused by inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's or ulcerative colitis. IBS or infectious colitis are other causes but it would be associated with fever and loose stools.

All in all, you should wait for few days, have easy diet, lot of fluids and see will it improve. If not you should do a colonoscopy as a start of work up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
