What Causes Abdominal Cramping And Vaginal Discharge Of Membrane Strand?

Hello, Ive been taking Yaz for the past 8 or so months. I got my period on the day of the 4th sugar pill which is usual and have had it for 3 days today. I had very painful cramping the first two days and when taking out my tampon today a long(4-5inch) white/clear, thick, almost membrane like strand came out. This has never happened in the 3years taking birth control, it wasn t like a normal blood clot. I am sexually active, birth control is the only contraceptive. Does anyone know what this is?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think this can be endometrial mucosa lining. It may have caused the pain during ruptured. I don't think this can be related to abortion because you have been constantly on constipation.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
