General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Crampy diarrhea is not normal after incarcerated hernia surgery.

* Currently drink more liquids to prevent secondary dehydration.

* There can be a possible side effects of certain antibiotics as ampicillin, Amoxycillin or else used routinely for the postoperative period; gut flora disturbances from various reasons which can provoke mucous diarrhea.

Need to recheck the medicine basket whether anyone is causing the issue with the addition of probiotics containing lacto bacillus along with current medications to get best recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
