Hi, I can empathize your situation.

Your ultrasound has given you the answer for your abdominal cramps with spotting. There is no baby inside the uterus. Is there any sac? If the sac is there without baby, it is called as Blighted ovum. Such pregnancies do not continue and abort or have to be terminated.

If there is no sac also, the possibility is that you have aborted completely.

There is one possibility that the baby gets converted into grape like vesicles - it is called as molar pregnancy. However, that would have been visualised in scan as snow storm appearance.

I feel, at this stage, get confirmed from the Obstetrician and/or ultrasonographist that your abortion is complete. If so, forget about the incidence and prepare for the next pregnancy after 3 months. Give that much time for the tissues to recover.

If the abortion is not complete, you might have to get the uterus evacuated from the Obstetrician.

I am sure I have informed you all the possibilities and their remedies.
