Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 29 years, have regular periods, cycle of 28 to 29 days, for the first time I m late by 8 days, pregnancy test is negative, I was treated for a bladder infection 3 months ago, I m cramping like I m gonna have the period since the day was expecting the period, I have mild vaginal itching, could it be PID ?
I would suggest you to repeat your pregnancy test since some women may show a false negative result before 10 days of period.
Meanwhile a pelvic ultrasound ,vaginal smear and urine analysis should be done to rule out vaginal or pelvic infections.Urine culture and sensitivity should also be sent since there is a previous history of urinary tract infection.
If pregnancy is confirmed, antibiotics may be started for vaginal or urinary tract infections accordingly since certain drugs are contraindicated in pregnancy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards Dr.Saranya Ramadoss, General and Family Physician
