What Causes Abdominal Cramps During Sexual Intercourse?

When i get aroused i get a mild uncomfortable cramp. A little less intense than a period cramp but is still very annoying and a little painful. Then it quickly goes away and everything is back to normal. What is the cause. Is this normal? I am on the depo shot and it recently just started to happen.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* Usually in majority of the abdomen cramps in relation to sexual
intercourse are non specific intestine colic or twisting of pelvic
pedicles or organ structures.

* However , if on persistent basis and annoying, I would recommend to
undertake a CT scan of the abdomen & pelvis for further input.

Thanks.
