What Causes Abdominal Cramps, Vaginal Bleeding And Altered Bowel Movements?

I am experiencing cramps, similar to menstrual cramps, and am bleeding from my vagina. This just started today. I ve been having intestinal pain and a change in bowel habits (more frequent, and urgent). It s not a bright red or as heavy as a normal period, but I m 61 and have been post menopausal for at least 15 years. Should I see my doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think this bleeding in menopause should get evaluated. You should go imediately to gynaecologist doing an ultrasound to evaluate your situation. A D and C procedure may be needed and biopsy of the extracted material.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
