What Causes Abdominal Distension And Nausea Post Mirena Coil Insertion?

Hi. I had the marina coil fitted 6 days ago which was quite painful. I am also taking an oestrogen tablet along with it as I m going through the perimenopause. I am 44. Question is my stomach has been swollen since and have mild cramping and nausea. Is this quite normal as still early days? Thanks Carol
