General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are chances of some growth (benign or malignant) associated with gastrointestinal tract or genitourinary tract. Initial idea will be from ultrasonography test of the abdomen. Also, do a chest x-ray.

Does your wife also suffer from any gynecological problem? As with advancing age and consumption of contraceptive pills for longer duration can lead to cancer formation in a uterus. Rupture of the polycystic ovary or ovarian carcinoma can also lead to abdominal distention. So also consult a gynecologist for it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
