What Causes Abdominal Distention While Suffering From Chronic Bronchitis?
Hi, I ve had chronic bronchitis for the last 2 months - No fever but occasional sweating. The cough has lingered but is improving. There is not a lot of phlegm coming up. No chest congestion. The coughing has caused my stomach to be very hard and distended and my feet and ankles swell. Overall I don t feel sick but am concerned about my stomach. Will my stomach return to normal in time? Is there anything I can do to speed up this process? Kindest regards, D. Wolf YYYY@YYYY
You are having chronic bronchitis and swelling in leg and stomach area. So copd induced heart problem should be ruled out by EKG. If cardiac cause not present than serum protein estimation, liver profile and kidney profile should be checked for further work up.
For chronic bronchitis treatment spirometry is advisable to assess severity and accordingly bronchodilator drug.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
