What Causes Abdominal Pain After Gallbladder Removal Surgery?

My youngest daughter had her gall bladder removed in December. Since then she has continually had abdominal pain and her syptoms remain much the same prior to the surgery except worse. Could she have a double gall bladder and if so how can we detect it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There is no double gallbladder so if she had her gallbladder removed her symptoms are not related to the gallbladder.
She will need a detailed examination to find out the cause of abdominal pain. An ultrasound examination and other tests may be needed as well.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
