What Causes Abdominal Pain After Removing Sigmoid Colon?

I had my sigmoid colon removed in 2012. Now I am having severe pain in abdomen and the back. Some stool coming out. I m having a CT on my abdomen and pelvis Monday morn. My symptoms seem the same when I had the surgery on my bowel. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, the symptoms could be dying to post-surgical dumping syndrome and for that, you need to consult your primary surgeon.

If the stool is coming out from stoma made after sigmoid resection then it means its working properly. Get CT scan abdomen done and it will help in the further workup.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
