What Causes Abdominal Pain After Taking Zoloft?

My granddaughter started on 25mg zoloft this a.m. for depression. She is 13 y.o. About an hour after taking her med she complained of abdominal pain and it has lasted all day. Her doctor explained about side effects to both of us and say they would subside. Would she experience something like this so soon after taking her first dose?

Sertraline can cause abdominal pain, anxiety, restlessness, nausea, excessive sweating, amnesia (loss of memory) and aggression as its common side effects.
You can continue Zoloft. If she again feels pain then she can shift to another medicine escitalopram which has better safety profile.
Advice
1.     Continue Zoloft in the morning after meal
2.     Escitalopram if Zoloft is intolerable due to abdominal pain
3.     Do meditation
4.     Avoid smoking, coffee, and alcohol
