What Causes Abdominal Pain And Back Pain After Eating?

I m having abdominal pain that started yesterday mostly after eating but now it s almost constant. Bottom right side of abdomen between hip bone and navel but lower. Also upper abdomen with pain radiating to my back. Otherwise I m in great health, yoga teacher, not overweight or high blood pressure etc. this pain happened a year ago and my dr suspected gallbladder but it went away so I never had surgery. This pain is a 7 on scale from 1-10. Should I go to ER or see dr tomorrow am?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the abdomen pain with back pain after eating can be related to gastritis with or without an ulcer, pancreatic problem, gall bladder dyspepsia or others. As the pain intensity is 7 out of 10, it is recommended to consult at an ER rather than waiting till tomorrow morning and get a pain killer injection and medication prescription after emergency ultrasound evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
