What Causes Abdominal Pain And Bloating?
For the past 4 days I have passed only maroon coloured mucus and wind. I could not go out for two days as I needed to be near the toilet. I had awful stomach cramps. The chemist has given me something to ease the pain and to calm the gut but I am concerned why this is happening.

You seem to have bowel infection(mostly protozoal) leading to your symptoms.
You need confirmation of the cause by physical examination, stool examination & start with specific treatment(including antibiotic, antiprotozoal, pain medicine). Advised with rest, light diet, and lots of boiled water with sufficient electrolytes (electoral powder).
