What Causes Abdominal Pain And Blood Clots In The Legs?

MY sister had the stomach bypass- know as the sleeve? And has nothing but complications from this and her life has been the same since 10/17/2016. She is currently once again in the hospital with High ammonia levels, and bruising feet, abdominal pain, losing her hair, also they found a clots in her legs. Prior to having this surgery she was over weight with from time to time low iron but was a healthy, very active person. I need help understanding what is or could happening to my sister.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a vascular surgeon and get evaluated.

She is having a condition called deep vein thrombosis. It can happen with prolonged surgeries.

It will improve with heparin therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
