What Causes Abdominal Pain And Constipation After A C-section Surgery?

Hi I am a 26 year old female. I have had 2 c sections but after my 1st one I had to have it repaired two time so I have been cut open a total of four times. My youngest is 9 months old I had her while in prison at Maharry hospital in tn . I am having severe abdominal pain I only have a bowel movement maybe 1 a week and I bleed constantly I m currently on my 5 period in 6 weeks. And I have started to pee on myself randomly throughout the day. I feel sick all the time and tired constantly . I m in tears just picking my baby up out of her crib. The hospital says its adhesions I want a second opinion and what I can do to fix this.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of 2 C-sections, 2 surgeries to repair the abdominal wall, now constipation, pain in abdomen and tired all the time, Doctors say adhesions, wants to know what next.
First of all, you have to get a confirmed diagnosis and this is possible by a proper clinical examination by a General Surgeon.
Contrast enhanced CT scan of abdomen can really help a lot if done for enteroclysis also.
This can confirm whether there any intestinal obstruction due to bowel kinking or stricture.
If the stricture is present then you need a definite surgery.
If there is no stricture then a proper course of stool softeners and laxatives helps a lot.
Take probiotics.
Try to identify the foods and beverages that cause constipation and avoid these altogether.
Get the stool, blood and urine checked.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
