What Causes Abdominal Pain And Delay In Periods In Spite Of Taking Femilon?

I have been on femilon, finished my last tablet on Sunday 13th Dec since then I am getting pain and cramps but no signs of periods as yet. I did miss two tablets on two different dates but took two tablets on the following day. How many days does it generally take for periods to come after the last pill ?

I understand your concern.
Femilion contains Desogestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol, used as oral contraceptives (birth-control pills) to prevent pregnancy. Ideally, it needs to be taken everyday as indicated, and preferably at the same time.
The delay in periods and experiencing abdominal pain could be mainly due to your missing of tablets in between, which could have caused hormonal imbalance.
Also, missing of pills would have failed to offer protection and you might have conceived, in case you were sexually active during this period and not taken any other form of precautions.
Apart from taking pills as early as possible in case you miss taking pills, it is advisable to use other modes of contraception like condoms and spermicides till you get your periods, to ensure that you would be protected.
Kindly wait for periods to happen. In case the delay is more than two weeks, you need to consult Gynecologist for proper evaluation and management.
